“America the Beautiful…”

What is the first thing “America the Beautiful” song remind you of ? Is it the words ? Is it our history as a nation ? Does this melody of the song, inspire you? Does it reflect the best of what we are as citizens ? Of our home we call the “United States ! ” I’m also reminded of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody In Blue ” inspiring instrumental.

What inspires us to help one another during challenging times ? Is it Leadership ? Is it our neighbors we hope will be there to help us ? Or is it for other reasons… like the flora and fauna that is the landscape of our country. Or will we think of the difficult times like the real estate crash of 2008 . Or of times past … when the political landscape and polarization of opinion, caused a fracture of our identity. Dividedness became the result of war and the war for peace.

Our National Holiday of Memorial Day has come and pass. However, the memory… remembrance of those who protected us. Are part of our fabric of our Freedom. Pick one of the 58 thousand, 274 hundred reasons as one of your own rememberance and tribute of those engraved at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. About pleiku1970

My service at Pleiku, 1970 is significient because of the Cambodian Incursion. Close proximity to exit routes from the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the "Tri-Border area of Laos,Cambodia and Vietnam. This Air Force assignment was different than most, because of the isolation.
